Visualization is a true confluence of the science being researched, the supporting sciences needed to create the resulting visual (sometimes non-visual) representations, design, and art. As such, we are as much research scientists as we are artisans. CD3 has the expertise and experience to serve the Caltech/JPL community through collaborations that span from complete novel interactive exploratory environments to the generation of scientifically meaningful art for publication. The CD3 Visualization Atelier is currently involved in the Caltech/JPL/ArtCenter Summer Visualization Internship program, through which we bring together strong complimentary teams of Computer Science, Visualization, and Interactive Design students to tackle cutting edge scientific problems being studied at JPL and Caltech.
